Man and Computers

Man created computers, and yet computers have no life. Man can learn a lot from computers and yet computers can not work without first being programmed by man.

As man has evolved and grown, computers continue to evolve as well, but not without man’s involvement in that evolution.

Just as it is important for man to follow his instinct to continue to grow and change, computers will not change without man.

It seems as though everywhere man goes, there also will be computers, but man will have been there first, for he placed them there.

Man can receive a lot of enjoyment out of having a computer. Man can even become accustomed to always having their computer there for them and demand that it always be working properly. 

If something goes wrong with a computer and man can’t use it, man can be upset and emotionally disturbed, but a computer doesn’t even care if man EVER uses it.

If something goes wrong with a computer, it can actually be a direct result of something man did, and yet, computers can not physically hurt man.

If something goes wrong with a computer, it is totally in man’s control to do something about it, but even with the help of computers, when something goes wrong with man, it is sometimes out of man’s control.

If something goes wrong with man, you go to a doctor or hospital where man will use computers to help diagnose problems with man, but only man can fix problems with computers.

When repairing computers, man can indiscriminately substitute parts and keep trying until he finds and fixes the problem. Except for the miracle of transplants, man can not just substitute his parts until he feels better when sick or injured.

While formatting C: and reinstalling the operating system on a computer can take the system back to its original state when new, Man, once grown, can never again be a child.

If, even after formatting C and substituting parts, man can not repair a computer, he can always scrap the whole thing and rebuild it from scratch.

This is just not possible with man.

It is often said that man can no longer live without computers. That’s just not true. Although computers can be a very important part of life as we know it, they are only a small particle of man’s total evolution, for they would not exist if it were not for man creating them.

No matter how important computers can become to us, whether at home, work or our business, we must never forget the most important part of the equation is man himself.

Man must never forget how precious life is and that man can not simply be replaced or rebuilt by simply formatting C: or replacing the motherboard.
